Having a 2nd row center seat for Grace & the boys in a fantastic-sounding venue was just too good not to share. This is actually less than pro quality sound due to the limitations of the mics and recorder, but it's amazing what good position + great acoustics + an audience that shuts the **** up during the songs will do for you! I can't imagine it even sounding better if you were there. And a great performance to boot. You'd be hard pressed to find a clearer GPN audience tape. From the comments on the recording I would assume this is a pretty formal venue. The audience picks up energy near the end of the set, but for the most part I imagine that they were sitting and enjoying the music. This might be one of the reasons that the recording came out so clear. Aside from the quality of the recording, the quality of the performance also shines. You have Grace and the band running through the best parts of their catalog. Grace tells some stories. She sounds fantastic on the piano and the organ. It all seems very intimate and inspired. Then, toward the end of the set they decide to show their prowress as a "jam band" with some stretching out from Over Again through the rest of the set.
